Gauge:  Chain 8 = 1 inch

Sacque:  Begin at neck.  Ch 81.

Row 1.  Sc in second st from hook and in each st across (80 sc).

Row 2.  Sc even

Row 3.  Sc in each of 2, inc in next and in each 5th st across, end sc in each of 2.

Row 4.  Sc even

Row 5.  Sc in 3, inc in next and in each 6th st across, end sc in each of 3.

Rows 6 and 7.  Sc even

Row 8.  Sc in 4, increase in next and in each 7th st across, end sc in each of 4.

Rows 9 and 10.  Sc even.

Row 11.  Sc in 5, inc in next and in each 8th st, end sc in each of 5.

Row 12-14.  Sc even (144 sc).

To make half knot stitch:  Draw up 1/2 inch lp on hook, yo and through lp, insert hook under yarn at left of lp and make 1 sc.  ABBREVIATED IN THIS PATTERN TO hks.

Body.  Row 1.  Ch 3, (dc, hks, dc) in base of ch 3, (dc, hks, dc---a hks V, abbreviated hereafter as KV) in next sc, * sk 1 sc, KV in each of next 2 sc, repeat from * across, ch 3, end dc in last sc, ch 4, turn (96 KV's).

Row 2.  Dc in first dc, * KV in first dc of next V, repeat from *, end dc in top of ch 3, ch 4, turn.

Row 3.  * KV in first dc of next V, repeat from *, end KV in last dc, dc in top of ch 3, ch 4, turn.

Row 4.  Make 13 KV's, sk 21 KV's, join to 35th KV with a KV, make 25 KV's, join the 61st and 83rd KV's with a KV, make 13 KV's, keep edges in first 2 rows.  Continue in this pattern until work measures 5 1/2 inches from underarm joining.  Fasten off.

Sleeve.  Join yarn at underarm, and work in pattern, join each row, ch 3, and turn until sleeve measures 5 inches from underarm joining.

Cuff.  Ch 4, * dc in first dc of next KV, ch 1, repeat from * around, join, ch 1, sc in each dc and in each ch 1, join, ch 1, turn.  Make 4 sc rows even, and add 1 row KV's with sk 1 between.   Fasten off.

Make beading at neck:  Ch 4, sk 2, dc in next, * ch 1, sk 2, dc in next, repeat from *.  Make 1 row KV's along front edges and around neck, insert ribbons for ties, and add embroidery on yoke if desired.

Bonnet.  Row 1.  Ch 5, join in ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring.  (Join, ch 1, and turn at end of each row.)

Row 2.  * 2 sc in first, 1 sc in next, repeat from *.

Row 3.  * 2 sc in first, sc in each of 2, repeat from *.

Rows 4-8.  Inc in first, sc in 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7 in succeeding rows (45 sc).

Row 9.  SC even

Row 10.  Inc in first, sc in 8.

Row 11.  Inc in first, sc in 9

Row 12.  Sc even

Rows 13, 14, and 15.  Inc in every 11th, 12, and 13th sts.

Row 16.  Inc in every 10th st (77 sc).

Row 17.  Inc in every 11th st.

Row 18.  Inc in every 12th st (90 sc).

Row 19.  Sc even.

Row 20.  (First short row)  Ch 3, * sk 2, KV in next, repeat from * 25 times, sk 2, dc in next, ch 3, turn.

Work in pattern until bonnet measures 5 inches from center back, and on next row, make ch 1 between dc of V in place of hks, turn, work sc in each dc, sc in each ch 1 across, ch 1 turn.

Work sc even for 6 more rows, inc in each 7th st of next row, and work even until brim is desired width.

Make 1 row of KV's at edge, with sk 1 between.

Sc across lower edge, drawing to shape by skipping occasional sts.

Insert ribbon in last row of pattern under brim, and add embroidery as desired.

Boottee.  Begin with sole.  Ch 20.

Row 1.  2 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 15, 5 dc in next, 1 dc in each of next 15 down opposite side of ch, 2 dc in last, join to top of 3 ch.

Row 2.  Ch 3, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 7, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in same st as 3 ch, join.

Row 3.  Ch 3, (1 dc in next, 2 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in each of next 14, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 7 times, 1 dc in each of next 13, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in same st as 3 ch, join.

Row 4.  Ch 1, sc around spoke of each dc, inserting hook from back, right to left, join, ch 1, turn.  Work even in sc, turning at end of each row, until work measures about 1 inch above sole.  Fasten off.

Instep.  Row 1.  Beginning with first st to left of center back, count on left side of shoe to 28th st.  Join yarn in this st, ch 1, sc in each of next 11, ch 1, turn.

Make 12 rows even. 

Fasten instep in shoe as follows:  Catch last lp on hook into 15th st from center back on right side of shoe, and with instep piece toward you, sc it st for st to right side of shoe, 2 sc at corner, sc across toe, inserting hook from right to left under each of the original 12 sts of instep, 2 sc at corner, sc instep and shoe tog along left side, ending in 16th st from center back.

Beading.  With toe of shoe facing you, ch 4, * sk 1, dc in next, ch 1 *, repeat * to * across instep, and around shoe, ch 1, join to third st of ch 4 (22 dc, counting ch 4).

Top.  Ch 3 for first dc of KV, complete KV in base of ch, * sk 3, KV in next, around, join, ch 3, turn.  Make 3 more rows in pattern.  Fasten off.  Add ribbons and embroidery.
