NOTE:  Mary Ellen is knitting this outfit in 2008 and is modifying the pattern directions to be a bit more explicit and easier to follow than the original.

No gauge is given on the pattern.  Gauge obtained by Mary Ellen is: Yoke of 20 stitches = 3 inches wide.  Judging by the photograph, a 3 inch wide yoke looks like it is approximately 1/2 the length of the sleeves.  Her other knitted patterns that include gauges are all for 8 sts/inch.

Yoke:  With US 2 straight knitting needles and white yarn, cast on 20 stitches and knit 6 rows.

Pattern Wedge:

Row 2:  K across.
