Sacque: Begin at neck. Row 1. Ch 82, sc in second st from hook, and in each st across (Ch 1 to turn at end of each sc row, and take up back lp only).
Row 2. Sc in 5, * 3 sc in next, sc in each of next 4 *, repeat across, end sc in 5 (16 gr---15 points).
Row 3. Sc in each st.
Row 4. * Sc in 6, 3 sc in next *, repeat across, sc in 6.
Rows 5 and 7. Same as Row 3.
Row 6. * Sc in 8, 3 sc in next *, repeat across, end sc in 8.
Rows 8 & 9. * Sc in 4, sk 2, sc in 4, 3 sc in next *, repeat across, end sc in 4. Fasten off.
First Medallion: Row 1. Ch 4, join, ch 3 for first dc, 23 dc in ring, join.
Row 2. Ch 1, sc in next 3, 2 sc in next, remove hook, insert in center sc of first point on left, front of yoke, draw lp from medallion through, make 1 more sc in same place, remove hook, insert in next sc, draw lp through, sc in each of next 3, fastening each to yoke as before, * 3 sc in next, sc in each of next 3 *, repeat around medallion without fastening to yoke.
Second med and succeeding 14 med fasten to yoke in same manner, and each med joins also to one side of preceding med.
Fasten yarn on right yoke front where med joins to yoke, work in back lp only and from under side of yoke, sc in each of next 4, 3 sc in next, sc in each of next 5, * 3 sc in next, sc in each of next 12 *, repeat across, ending sc in 5, 3 sc in next, sc in 4, sl st to next, ch 1, turn. Sc across, making 3 sc in center of each inc in previous row, and sk 2 in each angle, 11 sc over right front edge of yoke to neckline.
Make beading on starting ch as follows: Ch 4, sk 1, dc in next, * ch 1, sk 1, dc in next *, repeat across, end ch 4, sl st to last st of starting ch, 11 sc down left front edge of yoke, sl st to join.
Body: Row 1. (Sc and dc) in first st, * ch 2, sk 1 (sc and dc) in next *, repeat to angle between med 2 and 3, (17 gr) sk 2 between gr over next 4 med (19 gr), sk 1 over next 4 med (31 gr), sk 2 over next 4 med (19 gr), sk 1 over next 2 med (17 gr), ch 3, turn. (103 gr).
Row 2. Sc and dc) in dc, * ch 2, (sc and dc) in next dc *, repeat across.
Rows 3 and 4. Same as Row 2.
Row 5. 17 gr, sk 19 gr, 31 gr, sk 19 gr, 17 gr, ch 3, turn. Work even over 65 gr until work measures 6 1/2 inches from underarm.
Sleeve: Join yarn at underarm. With inside of work toward you, work pattern over 19 gr, join. Turn at end of each row, making 20th gr. Continue in pattern until sleeve measures 6 inches at underam.
Cuff. Row 1. Work 30 sc at even intervals across bottom of sleeve, join and turn.
Row 2. Sc in each sc (back lp only), join.
Make 2 more rows same as row 2. Fasten off.
Bonnet. Row 1. (First med for center back.) Ch 4, join, ch 3 for first dc, 23 dc in ring, join to top of ch 3.
Row 2. Ch 1, * sc in each of next 3 (through both lps) 3 sc in next *, repeat around, join to first sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 3. Sc in each st (no increases), join, ch 1, turn.
Row 4. Sc in first 4 (back lp only from here on), * 3 sc in next, sc in 5 *, repeat 4 times, 3 sc in next, sc in next, join. Ch 1 and turn.
Second medallion: Make first 3 rows as for first med. Make 4th row to third st of first inc, --- remove hook, insert in corresponding st of first med, draw dropped lp through, sc in next st of second med, join as before and complete other sides of med without joining. Succeeding med will join one side to center med, and one side to med made last (7 med in all).
NOTE: Med can be sewed together if preferred. In that case, complete Row 4 of each med before joining.
Join yarn at increase on one med so that you will work across next inc, and make gr in joining st, (sk 3, gr in next) 3 times, sk 3, gr in angle between med, continue until there are 34 gr (leave one side of 2 med free in center back), ch 1, turn. Work in pattern until work measures 4 or 4 1/2 inches from med.
Brim: Sc in each dc, 2 sc under each dh 2, across. Make 14 or 15 rows sc, back lp only. Fasten off. Make 1 row sc across neckline.
Bootee: Begin with sole. Ch 20.
Row 1. 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 15, 5 dc in next, 1 dc in each of next 15 down opposite side of ch, 2 dc in last, join to top of 3 ch.
Row 2. Ch 3, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 7, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in same st as 3 ch, join.
Row 3. Ch 3, (1 dc in next, 2 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in each of next 14, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 7 times, 1 dc in each of next 13, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in same st as 3 ch, join.
Row 4. Ch 1, sc around spoke of each dc, join, ch 1, turn. Work even in sc, taking up back lp only, and turning at end of each row, until work measures about 1 inch above sole. Fasten off.
Instep: Make 1 med as for bonnet. Catch one corner of med into 16th st from center back on right side of shoe, sc med to shoe around toe, and end in 16th st from back on left side of shoe.
Beading: Ch 1, sk 1, dc in next (working toward back of shoe), ch 1, sk 1, dc in next, etc., ch 1, sl st to med on opposite side, work in pattern as for front of bonnet until top of shoe is about 2 inches. There should be 13 gr around shoe. Insert ribbons through beading and pattern sts across top of med.
Edge all garments with Bucilla Crochelle, * ch 3, sl st in next, * repeat.
Carriage Robe: With Casa Laine and No 3 hook, make med as for bonnet, adding Row 5, same as row 3, and row 6 same as row 2, with 7 sc between increases. Fasten off.
Make 137 full med, join in honeycomb pattern, 11 in first row, 10 in next, etc. for 13 rows using same method as for back of bonnet.
Fill in spaces at ends of each row of 10 with half med made as follows: Ch 4, join, ch 3 for first dc, 11 dc in ring, sl st along last dc made and across center and first ch 3, make sc in 3, 3 sc in next, sc in 4, 3 sc in next, sc in 3, ch 1, turn. Finish as for full med, except ch 1, turn at halfway mark instead of making complete round.
Border: Use gr pattern as for sacque, skipping 2 st between gr, ch 2, turn at end of each row. For flat finish at corners, make 2 gr in corner on first row, 1 gr on next, etc. Make 6 or 7 rows as desired.
