Waist Front. Row 1. Ch 72. Draw up a lp in each of the fourth and sixth sts from hook, yo, through 4, ch 1, * draw up lp in ch just made, draw up lp in same st of ch as last lp of first st, sk 1 st of ch, lp in next, yo, through 4, ch 1 (eye) (star st made) *, repeat * to * across, ch 3, turn. (34 stars).
Row 2. Draw up lp in second st from hook, draw up lp in eye at base of ch 3, lp in eye of next star, yo, through 4, ch 1, * draw up lp in ch just made, lp in same eye as last lp of previous star, lp in eye of next star, yo, through 4, ch 1 *, repeat across.
Work even for 6 rows.
Row 9. Sl st over 4 stars, work across until only 4 stars remain, ch 3, turn.
Work even over 26 stars for 8 rows.
Work over 8 stars for 6 rows for shoulder. Make opposite shoulder the same.
Waist Back. Ch 78, work 2 rows even. (37 stars). Work over 18 stars for 4 rows, sl st over 2 stars at armhole, work even for 14 rows, work over 8 stars for 2 rows for shoulder. Make other half of back the same.
Sleeve. Ch 59, work 28 stars for 3 rows, inc 1 star at each end of row (work extra star at beginning of row on turning chain, and at end of row catch one st at back of last star on preceding row). Work 2 rows even. Dec 4 stars at each end of next row, dec 3 stars at each end of next row, dec 1 star at each of next 5 rows (6 stars). Fasten off.
Pants. Front: Ch 82, work over 39 stars for 21 rows, dec 2 stars at each end of 1 row, and 1 star at each end of next row alternately until 9 stars remain.
Work 1 row even. Fasten off.
Back: Ch 82, work over 39 stars for 21 rows.
Dec 1 star at each end of row for 15 rows.
Work 1 row even. Fasten off.
Placket. Sc down right side of center back to center star, sc up left side, making button loops at desired intervals as follows: Ch 4, turn, sk 2 sc, sl st in next, turn, make 5 sc on chain.
Sew sleeve seams, side seams of waist and pants. Sew sleeves in place, and finish with ribbing as follows:
Waist Band Ribbing: Ch 13, 12 sc on ch, ch 1, turn. Sc in 10 (back st only), sc through both loops of last st, ch 1, turn.
Repeat until piece measures 17 or 18 inches. Sew ends together. Make ribbing bands on ch 7, 6 sc on ch, in pattern as for waist band, 6 inches for cuffs, 14 inches for neckband, and 25 inches for pants. Sew snap fasteners at crotch, and buttons at placket.
