Row 18. Crest st in second and fourth dc of each shell, with ch 3 at outside edge.
Row 19. Sc in center of first crest, shell in center of next (this shell should fall directly below shell above crest st row) sc in next, etc., across. Make 3 more shell rows. Fasten off.
Beading at neck. 1 dc in ch 1 of each crest st, with ch 2 between. Finish with shells spaced evenly down each front edge and around neck.
Sleeve. Join yarn at underarm, ch 3, complete shell in same st, 10 shells around. Join and turn at end of each row, making ch 3 part of shell each time to conceal joining. Make 16 more rows.
Cuff. Sc in 3 dc of each shell. Row of crest st, sk 2 sc between base stitches and ch 1 bet5ween for outer edge. Shell in each crest, sc between. Fasten off.
Bonnet. Begin at center back. Make 1 med as for yoke, (do not fasten off), sl st to second dc of shell, ch 12, row of crest st around, using second and fourth dc of each shell with ch 6 between at outside edge, join to sixth st of ch 12 (80 st).
Row 1. (20 shells), * sc, sk 1, shell, sk 1, * repeat across, join and turn as for sleeve. Make 4 more rows.
Row 6. 1 half shell, 16 shells, 1 half shell. Turn.
Row 7. 16 shells.
Row 8. Row of crest st as for bottom of sacque. Make 9 more rows of shells.
Flare. With back of bonnet toward you, join yarn in end of 15th row at lower right side. Make row of crest st in edge of shell row as for Row 8, turn, make shell in center of each ch 3, sc between crest sts, turn. Make 1 more row of shells. Sc across neckline, skipping occasional sts to draw bonnet to shape.
Bootee. Begin with sole. Ch 20.
Row 1. 2 dc in fourth ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 15, 5 dc in next, 1 dc in each of next 15 down opposite side of ch, 2 dc in last, join to top of 3-ch.
Row 2. Ch 3, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 7, 1 dc in each of next 13, 2 dc in each of next 3, 1 dc in same st as 3-ch, join.
Row 3. Ch 3, (1 dc in next, 2 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in each of next 14, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 7 times, 1 dc in each of next 13, (2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) 3 times, 1 dc in same st as 3-ch, join.
Row 4. Ch 3, 1 dc around the spoke of each dc, inserting hook from back, right to left. Join. (68 dc, counting 3-ch).
Row 5. Crest st, sk 2 between, ch 1 at top (23 X's).
Row 6. Dc in each st (69 dc). Join. Fasten off.
Instep. Count 29 sts along left side of shoe (include ch 3 at center back). Join yarn in this st and with toe of shoe toward you, draw lp in same st. Retaining all lps on hook, draw up lp in each of next 12 (13 lps). Work off as follows: yo, through 1, * yo, through 2*, repeat across. The lp left on hook is always first st of next row.
Row 2. Insert hook under second vertical bar, draw up lp. Retaining all lps on hook, draw up lp in each vertical bar except last. Now insert hook through last vertical bar and st directly behind it and draw up lp (13 lps). Work off as for Row 1. Make 6 more rows in same manner.
Row 9. Draw up lp under second vertical bar, yo, through 2 (sc made). Repeat across, ending with 1 lp on hook.
Fasten instep in shoe as follows: Catch remaining lp on hook into 15th st from center back on right side of shoe (do not count 3-ch) and with instep piece toward you, sc it to right side of shoe, 2 sc at corner, sc across toe, inserting hook from right to left under each of the original 13 sts of instep, 2 sc at corner, sc instep and shoe tog along left side, ending in 15th st from center back (count 3-ch).
Beading. With toe of shoe facing you, ch 4, * sk 1 st, dc in next, ch 1 *, repeat across instep, ending in same 15th st where you began joining instep to shoe, ch 1, repeat * to * (above) around top of shoe, join to third st of 4-ch (21 dc, counting 4-ch).
Top. * Sk ch 1 and 1 dc, shell in next ch 1, sk 1 dc and ch 1, sc in next dc *, repeat around (7 shells). Turn at end of each row as for sleeve. Make 2 more rows of shells, 1 row crest st, and 2 more rows of shells. Fasten off.
Edge all garments with Bucilla Crochelle. Ch 3, sl st in next, etc., around. Run ribbons in beadings, and in front of flare on bonnet.
